FAQs
WHERE IS BIF?
㋡
BIF takes place across two venues in central Brighton: The Wing at The Brighton Centre, and Wagner Hall. The two are just a few minutes' walk apart.
Head to The Wing first. That's where the front desk is, so you'll need to go there to buy a ticket or swap a pre-bought ticket for your entry wristband.
HOW DO I FIND BIF?
㋡
The Wing at The Brighton Centre - Russell Road, BN1 2RL
Entrance on Russell Road - ///saves.drums.lease
At the back of The Brighton Centre, not the main seafront entrance.
Wagner Hall - Russell Place, BN1 2RT - ///cooks.fallen.bright
Leave The Wing and, with the building directly behind you, walk straight ahead. The route will be well signposted, and our stewards will be on hand to point you in the right direction.
How do I buy tickets
㋡
You can buy tickets online here, or in person during the festival weekend at the front desk in The Wing. We'd recommend booking in advance, because it'll save you time when you arrive. Just have your confirmation email / QR code ready to be scanned at the front desk, and we'll swap it for your entry wristband.
Do you offer tickets for carers and personal assistants?
㋡
Yes. If you need a carer, personal assistant or support worker with you at BIF, their ticket is free. Just email us at contactingbif@gmail.com and we'll sort it out.
WHAT’S GOING ON IN EACH VENUE?
㋡
The Wing is home to the fair, where you'll find two floors of our exhibitors, plus workshops and food and drink stalls. Wagner Hall is where our bigger talks and presentations happen, along with the some interactive workshops.
For more info on what’s happening in each space check out our BIF26 schedule here. You can also find out about all our exhibitors over on our Instagram here
ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
㋡
The Wing allows registered assistance dogs only.
Is there food & drink on site?
㋡
Yes we have some great local traders! There'll be coffee and bakes from Bolt Espresso, bánh mì from Earls, and deli food from At The Table.
Are all the talks and workshops included in the ticket price & how do they work?
㋡
Yes they are - the schedule and times are here
All the workshops in The Wing are drop-in, so you can join whenever suits you. They can get busy at peak times. If a workshop is full when you arrive, have a look round the fair and pop back a bit later, because spaces free up throughout the day.
Talks and workshops at Wagner Hall start at set times. To avoid disrupting speakers and other visitors, please check the schedule and aim to arrive 5–10 minutes before the session begins.
Is BIF suitable for kids?
㋡
Yes, and we love to see them there! Our programme includes some sessions made just for kids, plus lots of workshops children can join with an adult's help. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, including during workshops.
Check out our kids line up here
Are both venues accessible?
㋡
Yes, both venues have step-free access. Wagner Hall is all on the ground floor with ramp access, and The Wing has a lift and accessible toilets. If there's anything that would make your visit easier, or you'd like to know more before you come, email us at contactingbif@gmail.com and we'll be happy to help.
Can I volunteer at BIF?
㋡
Yes, we'd love to have you! You can sign up and register your interest here.
How do I pay for things on site?
㋡
Most exhibitors and food stalls take both cash and card.
What is your refund policy?
㋡
Unfortunately we're not able to offer refunds within 30 days of the festival
Photography and filming
㋡
We'll be taking photos and video throughout the festival, and we may use them on our website, on social media and in future promotion. By attending, you agree that you may appear in this footage. If you'd prefer not to be photographed or filmed, just let one of our photographers or a member of the team know, and we'll do our best to keep you out of shot.
